Medical Receptionist

The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, helping create a positive experience while supporting the daily operations of a busy specialty medical practice. This role is responsible for patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, payment collection, medical records support, and general front office administration.

Location: Metro Atlanta, GA (On-site)

• This position supports multiple office locations throughout the Atlanta area, including Midtown, East Point, and Decatur. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be available to travel between locations as needed.

Pay: $18-19hour (DOE)

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:30am-5pm

What You'll Be Doing

• Greet, check in, and check out patients in a professional and friendly manner.

• Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation.

• Schedule new patient appointments, follow-up visits, and appointment changes.

• Answer and triage incoming calls, route messages, and assist patients with scheduling needs.

• Collect copays, deductibles, outstanding balances, and process payments accurately.

• Notify clinical staff of patient arrivals and support efficient patient flow throughout the day.

• Prepare patient charts and maintain accurate records within the EMR system.

• Scan documents, process faxes, and assist with medical records requests.

• Follow up on missed appointments and support ongoing patient communication.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Patient Services Representative, or similar medical front office role.

• Experience with patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and payment collection.

• Strong customer service skills with a warm, professional, and patient-focused approach.

• Comfortable discussing copays, balances, and payment-related questions with patients.

• Strong computer skills, including email, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and EMR systems.

• Fast and accurate typing and data-entry skills.

• Excellent communication and telephone etiquette.

• Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans is preferred.

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing an excellent patient experience.
