Schedule: Daytime and evening shifts available

Compensation: $19.00 - $22.00

Position Summary

Lucky's Malibu is seeking skilled, dependable Pastry Team Members to join our culinary team. This position is responsible for preparing, baking, finishing, and plating breads, pastries, and desserts while maintaining the restaurant's standards for quality, presentation, consistency, and cleanliness.

The ideal candidate has hands-on bread baking experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain consistency in recipe execution, portioning, flavor, appearance, and presentation.
• Monitor quality, freshness, and proper storage of all pastry and bakery products.
• Demonstrate proficiency in bread preparation, proofing, and baking.
• Plate and finish desserts accurately and efficiently during restaurant service.
• Execute decorative dessert writing using chocolate, frosting, or similar mediums.
• Maintain appropriate preparation levels and communicate shortages, product concerns, or production delays to management.
• Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, labeling, dating, and storage procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked workstations and equipment.
• Assist with other related kitchen preparation, cleaning, and operational duties as reasonably assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous professional bread baking experience required.
• Ability to execute recipes accurately and consistently.
• Ability to perform decorative writing using chocolate or frosting.
• Experience with pastry and dessert preparation preferred.
• Experience working in a high-volume restaurant or professional kitchen preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work assigned daytime or evening shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Food Handler Card, unless exempt under applicable law.

Physical Requirements

This position involves prolonged standing, walking, repetitive hand movements, and handling kitchen equipment and ingredients. Employees may be required to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 25 pounds, with assistance or reasonable accommodation as appropriate.
